Our start in the clothing alterations business began with a passion for sewing, which is simply the craft of stitching together fabrics by hand or machine. While sewing originated with just a needle, tread and material, it has blossomed into a celebrated art form that inspired the high fashion industry, film and theater costume design and the team at Legacy Alterations. Our business incorporates the best of many sewing trades, and we're fortunate to work on a variety of exciting projects daily!
We understand what type of stitch or method is appropriate for which type of fabric and design. When dealing with particularly fine details like bead work, we employ a steady hand and fix such repairs manually by hand. Sometimes a dress needs to be entirely refashioned, so we use a combination of sewing methods that range from hand sewn techniques to machine work.
